This is such an unique way of looking at and comparing social media platforms. However, I think the reason why we use these platforms is to escape the boundaries of labels and cliques. Using them as tools for self-expression allows us to show one another who we really are on the inside without resorting to superficial stereotyping.

  • Anonymous

Very cool way of looking at social media! To be honest some of these networks I have never heard of but this is a cool way of publicizing what each one does and what kind of people might be interested in each one. I agree with TomQin though that it is often social media that allows us to escape stereotypical boundaries.

    I think we’re onto something ;) .

  • http://www.flowtown.com Dan Martell

Um not too sure. I think using a platform is a form of self expression. If you were early Twitter, that meant something. Now it’s, Instapaper vs. Path, etc. I think each platform has a uniqueness that resonates with the person as well.

So very cool to look at social media! To be honest, some of these networks, I’ve never heard of, but this is a smart way to publish what each does and what kind of people may be of interest to all. Agree TomQin although it is often a social medium through which we go forth from stereotyped.
